Heritage & History

Founded** Ramón Allones**It was sometime between 1837 and 1845. It is now one of the oldest surviving brand names still in Habanos S. A.'s portfolio. Founded in 1830 by the Galician (northwestern Spain) immigrants Ramon and Antonio Allones, the marlca was named after them to groomed as a technique dominance. rette with Ramón Allones (a leader who had spent years researching the subtleties of the leaf under the tutelage of tobacco baron Juan Conill Pi.

The brand was established in 1837 (first registered April 20th 1848) by Mr Allones and it is said that this size of cigar actually owes its existence to Allones who instructed his factory manager to make cigars with the end of the box left over at the end of a days production.

The Specially Selected is probably the best known–a robusto that many a-collector to be will put up as consistency and delivery of flavour alongside the iconic Serie D No.4. For a longer, more contemplative trip, the Gigantes (a Prominente size) is as fine a lesson in evolution from spice to cream over two hours as you can get.

The brand also warms the cockles of those who like the smaller stuff; such as this Small Club Coronas, which delivers (in spades), a lot of what we have come to expect from this intense marque at an exact four inches by thirty-four ring gauge. In the social hierarchy of cigars, where a Siglo VI is fumbled for by some in order to indicate refinement and rank himself above his station- much more frequently my restless but untutored old smoker will retreat back to an Allones Extra or one of the Regional Editions.

Thusfar, these limited-editions have become some of the most sought after lots at auction and typically serve to showcase how the brand’s powerhouse style takes shape in individual, modernized modes.

Tasting Experience

A complex black pepper-like spice joins in toward the end which tingles your throat and never became harsh thanks to me nubbing it (smoking to the very end of it).

The power is great butintricate. It serves that feeling of having had enough to eat, so it’s perfect if you follow a big dinner with a drink. To get to the core of themost distinct elements of this blend, sip along with a heavily sherriedhighland malt scotch or an aged dark Caribbean rum.
