A time capsule worth opening
Shared this with a friend who collects aged Cuban cigars. We both agreed it was one of the finest smokes we've ever had. Silky smooth with zero bitterness. The age has rounded every edge.

Product Presentation: Box of 10
First Third
After two decades of age, the Double Corona opens with remarkable poise. The initial draws reveal aged cedar and a honeyed sweetness that only extended maturation can produce. There is a softness here — the tobacco has shed any youthful edge, presenting instead a silky creaminess layered with dried fruit and faded leather. The 49 ring gauge keeps the smoke cool as it travels the full length, and the first inch delivers gentle spice alongside vanilla and caramel notes.
Mid-Section
The midsection rewards patience. The Edicion Limitada tobaccos, now fully integrated after years of rest, produce a complex weave of coffee, toasted almonds, and sandalwood. White pepper appears on the retrohale but never dominates. There is a dried apricot sweetness that balances the earthier tones, and the smoke carries a velvety weight that coats the palate luxuriously. The strength holds at a confident medium-to-full, never pushing beyond what the body can comfortably deliver.
Final Third
The vintage character declares itself most clearly in the final act. Dark roast coffee and aged leather replace the earlier sweetness, while a quiet mineral note emerges from beneath. The cedar has transformed into something closer to aromatic incense — warm, dry, complex. There is none of the harshness that lesser vintage cigars develop; instead, the Double Corona finishes with a graceful, lingering warmth of cocoa, dried tobacco, and a whisper of caramel.

Cohiba was established in 1966 as a private brand for Fidel Castro and high-ranking Cuban officials. For years, these cigars were exclusively reserved for diplomatic gifts and state functions, never available to the public. The brand became commercially available in 1982 and quickly rose to become the most recognized name in Cuban cigars. Every Cohiba is produced at the prestigious El Laguito factory in Havana, where the filler leaves undergo a distinctive third fermentation in cedar barrels, a process unique to the brand that imparts its signature smoothness and refined complexity.

Cohiba Double Corona Limited Edition 2003 VINTAGE
$3550.00
The Cohiba Double Corona Limited Edition 2003 is a Prominente (Double Corona) format Cuban cigar measuring 194 mm (7.6") with a 49 ring gauge, presented in boxes of 25. Released as part of the 2003 Edicion Limitada programme, it uses tobaccos aged a minimum of two additional years beyond Cohiba's standard process.
With over two decades of natural rest, surviving examples have developed remarkable smoothness and depth, making this a collector's piece of the highest order. It suits the experienced smoker who values vintage Cuban tobacco and understands what extended ageing can achieve in a well-stored cigar.
The aged wrapper presents a matte, reddish-brown surface with a delicate, papery texture that speaks to its years of rest. The overall profile is remarkably smooth — cream, aged wood, leather, and a gentle mushroom earthiness, with coffee and baking spice adding complexity. Two decades of natural rest have coaxed out a quiet authority: there is no harshness, no rough edge, only the depth that properly aged Cuban tobacco delivers. The construction, hand-rolled at El Laguito from premier Vuelta Abajo tobaccos, holds beautifully despite the cigar's age, with an even burn and firm ash. The finish is long and cedar-laced, inviting the slowest possible pace.
Every vintage Cohiba from Cuban Cigars For Sale is sourced through authenticated channels with full provenance assurance. We ship worldwide in humidity-controlled packaging to preserve the integrity that two decades of ageing have built.

Found this Cohiba Double Corona LE 2003 here and took a chance. Best decision I've made this year. Over twenty years of aging have turned this into something extraordinary — the wrapper is dark and oily, the draw is effortless, and the flavors are incredibly refined. Dried stone fruit, aged cedar, cocoa butter, and a lingering sweetness. The double corona format means you get nearly two hours with this beauty. If you find vintage Cohiba limited editions in good condition, don't hesitate.
Excellent condition for a 2003 cigar. The flavors were mellow and sophisticated — nothing aggressive, just pure refined tobacco enjoyment. A collector's dream that still smokes beautifully.
