Great Gateway to Partagas
Started with these before moving to the D4. They're excellent in their own right. Bold, earthy, peppery. Just wish they lasted a bit longer.

First Third
Upon lighting, the palate is greeted by a well-composed opening that balances accessibility with genuine complexity. Earth establishes the foundation, clean and defined, accompanied by notes of leather that add warmth and structure. The smoke carries a satisfying weight on the palate without being heavy-handed, and spice emerges subtly on the retrohale to round out the initial profile. The construction delivers an easy, even draw with good smoke production, allowing the early flavors to develop at a measured pace.
Mid-Section
The midsection is where the blend truly finds its stride as the initial notes mature into richer expressions. Pepper steps forward to join earth in the dominant position, while dark chocolate and coffee add welcome layers of complexity. The body builds gradually, moving into a satisfying medium range that fills the mouth without overwhelming it. The smoke becomes creamier and more textured, producing thick, creamy clouds with each draw. This is where the Partagas character reveals itself most clearly, balancing strength and finesse in equal measure.
Final Third
The closing act brings the cigar to its full expression with measured authority. Dark wood and pepper anchor the closing profile while wood adds definition and persistence to each draw. The strength steps up naturally without any abrupt escalation, and the smoke retains its smooth, well-constructed character throughout. The burn continues cleanly, the ash holding firm as the cigar delivers its final statement. The finish lingers pleasantly on the palate, carrying echoes of the journey that preceded it and leaving you with a clear appreciation for the craftsmanship within.

Partagas is one of Cuba's oldest and most prestigious cigar brands, founded in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagas in Havana. The brand's factory on Industria Street behind the Capitol building is one of the oldest continuously operating cigar factories in the world. Partagas has always been known for its bold, full-bodied blends that showcase the power of Vuelta Abajo tobacco. The Serie D and Serie E lines modernized the brand for contemporary tastes while maintaining the muscular character that has defined Partagas for nearly two centuries.

Partagas Serie D No. 5
$420.00
The Partagas Serie D No. 5 is a Petit Robusto format Cuban cigar measuring 110 mm (4.3") with a 50 ring gauge, presented in boxes of 25. The younger sibling of the renowned Serie D No. 4, it packs the full Partagas character into a compact 30-to-40-minute session.
Suited to experienced smokers who demand full flavour without a lengthy time commitment, this medium-full to full cigar delivers earth, leather, and dark spice with concentrated intensity. The wide 50 ring gauge ensures a cool, generous draw despite the short length.
The wrapper is a dark, rich brown with a subtle oily quality typical of the Serie D line. The overall profile delivers earth, dark wood, raw cocoa, leather, and baking spice — clove and cinnamon — with black pepper and charred wood adding the signature Partagas intensity. The generous ring gauge keeps the smoke temperature controlled, allowing flavours to express themselves cleanly despite the short format. The draw is open and satisfying, the construction reliably tight. The finish is bold and dry, with a lingering spice that persists well after the last draw. Each cigar passes through multiple quality inspections before boxing, ensuring construction meets the exacting Habanos S.A. standard.
Every Partagas Serie D No. 5 from Cuban Cigars For Sale is guaranteed authentic, properly stored, and shipped worldwide with humidity-sealed packaging. The full Partagas experience, concentrated into a short, powerful format.

I was skeptical about the smaller ring gauge but the Partagas Serie D No.5 absolutely delivers. It's like a concentrated shot of the D4 experience. Smoked three this past weekend while gardening and each one was consistent and satisfying. At this price point, you can enjoy genuine Cuban Partagas every day without breaking the bank. Much better than the Montecristo No.5 in my opinion — more character, more depth.
The Serie D No.5 is the little brother of the D4, and while it doesn't have the same depth due to its smaller size, it delivers that unmistakable Partagas punch in a compact package. Earth, pepper, cocoa — it's all there, just condensed into a 20-minute smoke. I keep a box in my office desk for those afternoons when I need a quick escape. Great value for an authentic Cuban cigar.
