Finding the Year of the Ox LE took some effort, but it was absolutely worth it. This is a Hoyo de Monterrey with ambition — richer, deeper, and more complex than the regular line. I smoked mine on a cool autumn evening with a glass of sherry and it was a sublime pairing. Dark honey, coffee, and a warm spice carried me through an hour and a half of pure enjoyment. If you can still find these, grab them. They won't last.
Limited editions can be hit or miss, but the Year of the Ox is a definite hit. The cigar is noticeably richer and more complex than standard Hoyo production. I get dark honey, toasted almond, espresso, and a long, satisfying pepper finish. The wrapper is dark and oily, and the construction is what you'd expect from a limited release — absolutely perfect.
