Smoked one of these at a cigar event in London last autumn. The Connoisseur No.2 stood out even among some very stiff competition from other brands. It's smooth, refined, and has a delicate floral note in the first third that I've never experienced in another H. Upmann. The body builds to medium-full by the end. A beautiful cigar for a contemplative evening.
The H. Upmann Connoisseur No.2 takes the classic No.2 torpedo shape and dials up the complexity. From the first puff you get a concentrated burst of cedar and cream, opening gradually into rich notes of walnut, leather, and a lingering sweetness. The tapered head lets you control the draw beautifully. I've been comparing it to the standard No.2 and while both are excellent, the Connoisseur has an extra layer of refinement that justifies the premium. One of the best H. Upmann torpedo cigars available.
